Ok guys here is the news from BRP. Here's the scoop: It is a 650 twin, 54 hp and the same body, suspension etc as the 800 except for the wheels which are steel and it actually weighs a little more than the 800. Sounds like in some test runs the 650 Outty beat the 750 Brute and the 800 Polaris...the only thing that can beat it is the 800 Outty.....but we knew it was going to kick a$$.......it's a Rotax!! This is the one I have been waiting for!!

Hey and guess what, it will cost more than the brute and polaris too! LOL. Really guys, speed on a utility atv above most any 450 is wasted, do you use your atv as a drag racer? When was the last time you needed to run down a dirt road or trail over 60mph? Seems some companies hawk their models top speed as the prime selling point, to me its the least important thing, durability, reliability and pulling power, load capacity now there is your important things to look for.

What is nice about the 650 and 800, ONCE, they work out the first year bugs, you will have a machine that is reliable, durable, insane low end torque, one of best EBS system on the market, and on top of that the most power to smoke anyone on the trail or off. These Bomb machines can do it all, but the first year bugs need to be worked out.

I think they are measuring the power by the speed, but my experience has been that the power (torque) of the 800 has premitted me to climb hills other utility ATVs only dream about.....without a lot of spinning and fanfare. You will not believe how they climb with this power until you are on one. Trust me. Nothing out there in the utility class touches it. We recently went on a ride with 12 other utility ATVs and we drove each others to try them out. The 400-600 c.c. sizes are nowhere near the same as this 800. Maybe the hype over speed has overshadowed how you use these things. The others are all great machines (I had a Honda and Polaris before the BRP), but they could never climb like this.

I agree Snoball. We did some serious hill climbing in Arkansas, you can watch the videos on my video site. Its called Bear Creek Trails, Arkansas. What the videos labled the "The Hill"

When I made it to the top, one of the Grizz guys commented on how easily and smooth the Bomb made it with very little loss of traction. Of course I am running 27" Bighorns which helps, but that aside this machine is very stable and has no problem climbing. The front end is not light, as some people have reported. I think this came from people hammering on the throttle going up steep hills, which, duh no crap its going to come up. Heck, if you can hit it half throttle and pop a wheelie on level ground you can imagine what it will do on a hill if you aren't careful on the throttle.

I love everything about the Bomb 650, just not the price. I know you get what you pay for but I could get a BF750, Kingquad, Sp700 EFI and some other really good big bores plus add mods to pay for a Bomb 650. Canadians ain't cheap eh. Smiler

Going tomorrow to pick up my new 650 Max XT, guess that means no sleep tonight. Test drove a 650 one up about a month ago and was really impressed with it.
