I tore a rear cv boot on my BF and called 2 dealers, one said the BF boot kit wasn't even out yet, and the other dealer quoted me $58.89 and they would have to order the kit. AutoZone cross refenced the boot and said it was the same as a Precision Universal Joint boot, which fits a 1989-1994 Suzuki Swift with a 1.3 liter motor. It was $8.99 and came with grease, 2 clamps, and the boot. It fit great. The hardest thing about replacing it was getting the axle nut off. BF guys will probably be replacing these boots fairly often unless we get better aftermarket protection. Thanks to Mudman (no not me) for turning me on to this.

The Precision Universal CV boot will have too large of an ID on the small end for most ATV axles. Try the Fast-Boot Universal ATV boot available from Moose Utility, Tucker Rocky, WPS, Polaris, etc.

This is great information. I have a BF 750 and I just tore a rear cv boot and my local dealer told me that I need to replace the entire axel because no one makes a kit for it yet. Thank god for Mudman, you just saved me a ton of money.

welcome Dray. Yeah it saved me a lot of cash. I am finding out more and more there are ways to stay away from the service dept. for things. Congrats on the Brute. they are incredible. I am constantly looking for ways to add stuff to it or make it better. Check out my steerable headlight kit I made. Click on "My ATVPosters Album" at the bottom of my sig.
