I just recently learned that mink oil used for leather etc....is also very effective at preventing mud from sticking to your quad and radiator. It's called Montana Pitch Oil and Conditioner.

This past weekend I applied it to everything on my quad except the tires and after 4 rides though a local pond, it only took me 5 minutes to rinse off my BF. SO far one application and 4 rides it still shing.

I strongly recomend this product to all of you who are tired of spending the same amount of time cleaning your quad as you do riding it.

I'd also like to thank Guns for providing the info after he used it.

I added a pic of your machine in there, dang it really shines. from what you said over on highlifter it really takes time away from cleaning. Soundslike a real winner you found here. Give us some more reports when you get it in the gumbo mud. cool

I use tire foam on my atvs after cleaning them. I have tried the inside of the fenders and it seems to help the cleaning process. Is it safe to use on the motor parts and the radiator?

I have always used son of a gun on my whole atv and it helps but only alittle. I would say if mud says she can tell a big difference then it is true. she knows her crap so I am going to try it. where she rides they dont play around so if anyone knows it will be her. she is the goddess of mud.... Smiler

but enough butt kissing and to anwser you question, I spray my whole atv down for years and it doesnt hurt. I think the combination of bees wax, the pine and mink oil is the trick to cleaning right up and not sticking to the rad.

We used to do the same thing with tire foam. This stuff works 100 times better because it doesnt wash off as soon as you hit a hole. I was skeptical when I bought it thinking it was just another thing to give away if it didn't work. Well let me tell you, it works. So far I've taken it in the muddy pond 5 times with only one application. My radiator has not gotten clogged and the rest of the quad has beads of water. Just rinse off and put it up. I haven't had to use soap in 5 mud rides thru the pond.

As far as the engine and exhaust, I don't think I want to be the guinea pig for that LOL. It works fine on the radiator though.

It looks like it comes in a bottle, like a shampoo bottle. Do you use a rag to put it on? How do you get it on the radiator?

I do my fair share of mudding, I have shown pics. The hardest part to keep clean besides the rad. is the exhaust. No biggie on the small pipes, but the rear pipe itself gets pretty cruddy looking sometimes.

mary bought it in a gallon jug, all you need to do is put it in a spray bottle and spray away. spray alittle on the plastic and wipe down.

Yeah, I sprayed it in my radiator and used a sponge/rag to apply to the quad. It stinks and leaves a white film on the muffler. It held up through 8 trips through the muddy pond before it washed off. Thats pretty good in my book. Anyone else try it yet?
